STEPHEN JEAN
SENIOR STYLIST
Originally from Houston, Texas, Stephen arrived in Austin after graduating from Texas A&M University to work for a tech company. After realizing that his real passion lies in style and design, he made a complete career change and eventually became a part of the Jose Luis Salon team!
Stephen is certified in Vidal Sassoon's ABC's of Cutting method, and was a Top 10 National Finalist in the Sasoon Academy Cut & Color Competition in 2013. He has completed trainings in editorial styling with the Bumble & Bumble creative team and American Balayage with Beth Minardi. He is also certified in Global Keratin treatments.
Stephen loves working with a real variety of different hair textures and color palettes. He believes the best hair is the hair that makes clients feel the happiest in their soul and puts a pep in their step. When it comes to cutting and styling, Stephen's philosophy is a cut needs to look fantastic even if you didn't style it. When it comes to color, he imitates how the sun and nature would lighten hair, and then turns up the contrast for a look he calls hypernatural.
